Take a break from the heat and help end hunger at Springfield-Greene County Park Board swimming pools this summer. From May 26 to September 1, between 5:30 and 6:30 pm daily, admission to all outdoor pools is $1 or free when you bring one canned food item per person.

Adults are invited to attend Exploring Genealogy at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, in the Library Center Story Hour Room, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.

Archivists from the State Historical Society of Missouri's Springfield Research Center will introduce available resources for genealogical, local and historical research. Learn how to access the society's archives, including manuscripts, newspapers, photographs, art and editorial cartoons, and get tips for finding the best materials for your project.
